Listen Back: Monaghan volunteer urges locals to donate blood

There is an appeal for blood donations with stocks in the country at a critical level.

High demand means there is a limited supply of O positive and other key blood groups.

Donating blood significantly impacts others lives, as transfusions are critical for those facing serious medical conditions.

For the past six years, local woman Linda Moore has been the backbone of Cu Chulainn Blood Bikes.

Serving as Secretary, Phone Controller and Driver, Linda manages 24/7 hospital calls, organises fundraising, recruits volunteers, and ensures the safe delivery of blood, medical supplies, and breast milk.

She also plays a crucial role in securing national award wins; and steered the charity through leadership transitions.
