Listen Back: Cllr Fay on new housing development plans for Belturbet

On a street corner in Belturbet, an old pub that was once full of life, stands empty and unused.

The Duckin' Stool has been closed and the building has been vacant for a number of years.

That's set to change with works set to get underway to convert the former public house into social housing very soon.

Cllr Brendan Fay says this development along with other ones underway in the town will benefit a number of people who are currently on the social housing waiting list in Co Cavan.

Ronan Gargan has been speaking to the local independent councillor about what he describes is a way of breathing more life into the town.
