Listen Back: This weekend marks 5 years since the disappearance of Jean Tighe

This weekend marks 5 years since the disappearance of Jean Tighe. Cavan-Monaghan TD Brendan Smith is calling for a "comprehensive, ongoing and proper investigation" into the disappearance of Jean Tighe.

This Sunday will mark five years since Co Cavan woman Jean Tighe disappeared from a holiday resort in Portugal. Jean was 38 when she was last seen and has not been seen since.

Deputy Brendan Smith previously arranged a meeting with the Justice Minister for Jean's sister, Leona Tighe; shortly after he took office.  According to Deputy Smith, the Minister has discussed the case with a senior official of An Garda Siochana.

Deputy Smith said the Minister is "anxious" that the authorities here in Ireland vigorously pursue the Portuguese authorities to carry out a comprehensive, ongoing and proper investigation into Jean's disappearance.

Jodie Curran spoke with Deputy Brendan Smith who believes the investigation to date has been totally inadequate and it is simply just not good enough:
