Raymond Galligan stepped down after two years in charge

Cavan county board have thanked Raymond Galligan and his entire backroom team for their time with the senior team.

It follows the announcement yesterday; that the 2020 Ulster winning captain had stepped down as county senior team manager citing work and family commitments.

In their statement the county board noted; that the former goalkeeper had been a wonderful servant to the association as a footballer, team captain, manager and a positive role model for all particularly the younger fans.

The Breffni county exited the championship this year at the preliminary quarter-final stage defeat to Kerry while retaining their Division 2 league status.

Attention will now turning to finding a replacement. Indeed, Cavan county board chairman Mark O'Rourke noting that a management committee meeting will be held in the near future.
