Cavan made it three wins in-a-row after an impressive two point win over Down.

Miceal Rooney rocked the Breffni with a goal a minute later. However, the hosts stayed composed and led eight points to 1-3 10 minutes before half-time.
Down levelled the game on 29 minutes, 1-6 to nine points. However, Oisin Kiernan, Cormac O’Reilly and a Gearoid McKiernan free saw Cavan lead by three at half-time. 0-12 to 1-6.
The second-half was a close fought encounter. Down levelling the game five minutes after the restart. Points from Daniel Guinness and Danny Magill moved Down two points ahead on 44 minutes.
Pauric Faulkner rattled the Down net to put Cavan back in business a minute later. The sides exchanged points for the next 20 minutes. 1-18 each with five minutes remaining.
Two late Oisin Brady points swung the game in favour of Cavan as they made it three wins in a row, 1-20 to 1-18. Cavan move to six points in Allianz League division two.
