Almost €6.9 million spent on agency staff in Cavan and Monaghan Hospital in 2019

Almost €6.9 million was spent on agency staff in Cavan and Monaghan Hospital last year.

Meanwhile, €1,961,000 was spent on agency staff in the first four months of this year.

€6,871,000 was spent on agency staff in Cavan and Monaghan Hospitals in 2019.

March of last year saw the most money spent on agency staff, at more than €769,000.

Between January 2019 and April of 2020, spending on agency staff was at its lowest in March of this year, at €407,000.

However, there was a significant jump in spending in April, as the coronavirus pandemic worsened.

Spending dipped below €500,000 in October of last year, and remained there until April, when expenditure on agency staff hit €612,000.
