Members of the public are advised to seek alternative pathways for non-emergency care.

Cavan General Hospital have issued a reminder to the public to use alternative pathways due to the current high volume of patients in ED. Hospital management say that the Emergency Department is experiencing high volumes of patients.

In a statement issued to Northern Sound on behalf of management staff, members of the public are advised that the ED is still available if you need emergency care. However, patients are encouraged to use "alternative pathways" for non-emergency care through GP services, pharmacies and the Minor Injuries Unit in Monaghan Hospital. The Minor injuries unit located at Monaghan Hospital is open 7 days per week from 8am to 8pm.
