A local publican and county councillor is voicing concerns around the future of pubs.
Raymond Aughey's comments come as publicans are warning that hundreds more pubs could close unless targeted supports are introduced in Budget 2027.
Cllr Aughey says rising energy, wage and supplier costs are making it difficult for rural pubs to stay afloat.
He says not every pub is able to move into food service, leaving many totally dependent on drink sales alone.
He added that more people are choosing to socialise at home, partly due to rising costs.
The Vintners Federation says an average of 128 pubs a year are closing around the country.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, Cllr Aughey outlined the issues being faced right now.
