A debate surrounding the occupied territories bill took place at the most recent meeting of Monaghan County Council.
A motion, raised by Cllr Sean Conlon on behalf of Sinn Fein called on the council to oppose the exclusion of trade in the Occupied Territories Bill and write to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and trade Helen McEntee and the Tainaste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris.
This would call on them to include a ban on trade in services in the Governments proposed OTB with immediate effect.
The motion went to vote following debate from members.
Nine voted in favour, while there were six abstentions, therefore the motion was passed.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Conlon outlined the importance of this.
