A Magheracloone forecaster is warning people to exercise caution this afternoon and evening and to avoid travelling if it is possible.
This comes as Storm Bram, the second named storm to hit the country in two months, touches down.
The country is coming under an orange wind alert today as Storm Bram brings very strong to gale force southerly winds.

While Monaghan County Council is warning people of debris, loose objects displaced, outdoor events - organisers should reassess plans and consider cancelling or postponing for safety, power outages, flooded roads and public safety advice
Motorists are advised to take extreme care and be alert to the risk of fallen trees and flying debris.
ESB Networks warns of the dangers posed by fallen live wires. Stay well clear of any fallen cables and report them immediately to ESB Emergency Services at 1800 372 999.
National forecaster and Magheracloone man Gerry Murphy says the winds are likely to peak in the Cavan Monaghan region between 3pm and 5pm.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he outlined what is expected locally.
