A motorist is to appear in court after trying to evade a mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoint in Co Cavan.
Last week, Cavan Roads Policing Unit were carrying out an MIT checkpoint in Cavan Town when the driver attempted to reverse away through approaching traffic.
The motorist was disqualified from driving, and was over the legal alcohol limit.

The motorist was charged and will appear in court, while the car was also detained.
Meanwhile, on Friday night past, Monaghan Roads Policing Unit detected a disqualified motorist driving without insurance, NCT, or tax either.
Their vehicle was also detained.
