Monaghan County Council has completed a tender process for new firefighting PPE.
An investment of €265,000 has been made in upgrading frontline protection.
According to the council, this supports the ongoing focus on improving firefighter safety, and reducing exposure to harmful containments - which aligns with best practice.
Additional PPE secured includes new Eska gloves, along with BarriAire hoods designed to reduce particulate exposure.
Alongside the PPE upgrades, an investment of €30,000 has been secured for a number of battery-operated Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV).
