Public asked to 'avoid' Cavan Hospital where possible due to attendance increase

The Emergency Department of Cavan General Hospital is currently experiencing a “significant increase in attendance”.

The Hospital says “long delays are to expected during this time” as a result of a “prolonged period of increased activity” due to covid-19.

It’s asked all “patients that have non-emergency needs seek alternative medical assistance”.

The Hospital added that “inpatient bed capacity is currently affected by increased cases of Covid-19 on-site” and thanked the public for its “continued support in hospital avoidance where possible”.
