Slight fall in Covid cases in local hospitals

The number of cases in Ireland's hospitals is at its lowest since October.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in local hospitals has fallen slightly over the past week.

31 cases were being treated locally last night, down two on the same day previous.

The number of Covid cases in hospitals across the country is at its lowest level in six months.

Cavan General Hospital has the highest number of confirmed cases, with eight reported last night.

It's followed by Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda with six and Galway University Hospital recorded five.

Portiuncula in Ballinasloe had five cases and Midland Regional in Mullingar had four.

Sligo Hospital had two confirmed cases last night, while Our Lady's Navan had one case.

It comes as the number of confirmed cases in public hospitals across the country is at its lowest point since October.

184 patients with the virus have been recorded.
