Gardaí have notably said further updates are expected to follow.

Two men remain in custody this afternoon after arrests were made by Gardaí in Monaghan as part of an investigation into a crash which claimed the lives of two teenagers. The girls were on the way to a school debs at the time. Best friends 17-year-old Kiea McCann and 16-year-old Dlava Mohamed tragically lost their lives on July 31st, when the car they were travelling in, hit a tree on a section of the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones.

The Monaghan teenagers were on their way to the Largey College School debs at the time. This morning two men aged in their 60s and 40s were arrested as part of the Garda investigation into the incident, and are being questioned at a station in Monaghan. While investigations into fatal collision are still ongoing - Gardaí have notably said further updates are expected to follow.
