Heather Humphreys said there are still questions for the Independent candidate to answer.

He told Tipp FM he'll be voting against his party's wishes.

It follows today's Business Post Red C poll showing Independent candidate Catherine Connolly on 36 per cent, with Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys on 25 per cent.

Along with Sinn Féin, Ms Connolly is supported by Labour, the Social Democrats, People Before Profit and the Green Party.

This day two weeks the country will vote for the next President of Ireland.

Ms Humphreys said she did her best and the former minister said she was sorry if Lucia feels she didn’t do enough.

The O’Farrell family received a public apology earlier this year from the justice minister.

The first debate gets underway at 9pm
